Towns are a part of the various locations available in God's Domain. Towns are considered smaller than Cities due to the population of players and NPCs.

Description[]

Towns can be catergorised into 3 types: Basic Towns, Intermediate Towns and Advanced Towns.

Basic Town[]

When a Basic Town is constructed, it gets the basic set up of a town:

  • Assign and design the construction of hotels, inns, shops, etc
  • Hire 1,000 NPC
  • Construct defensive structures.

Intermediate Town[]

When an Basic Town is promoted to an Intermediate Town, they get to:

  • Construct more defensive structures
  • Hire an additional 1,000 NPC Guards, for a total of 2,000.

Advanced Town[]

  • Usually is four times bigger than a Basic Town.
  • Hire up to 4,000 NPC Guards.

Town In Neutral Land[]

However, if a town or city were constructed in a neutral map, players wouldn't be required to hand over an exorbitant management fee to any kingdom or empire. Instead, players only had to pay a small management fee to the system.

Of course, such a benefit had a huge drawback: the lack of safety. Towns and cities within a kingdom or empire were under that kingdom or empire's protection. Monster attacks were the greatest threat these towns and cities would have to face. However, monsters weren't the only threat in a neutral map. Raids from other races would be commonplace, as well.

Since neutral maps were not under a kingdom or empire's jurisdiction, Guild Towns and Guild Cities in neutral maps could trade with other races.

Aside from trade, players could also employ foreign races to serve as the town's soldiers. Unlike human warriors, these races' warriors generally specialized in a particular aspect. Hence, Guilds that had towns in neutral maps in the past had hired foreign races' warriors to protect their towns.[1]

Town Promotion[]

Normal Town Promotion

In order to promote a town within a NPC Kingdom or Empire to a higher tier, the town has to fulfill one major criteria: Popularity. Once a town is able to reach a certain standard of players and NPC, the town will automatically be promoted and receive any accompanying benefits.

Another way was to use a Town Promotion Order.

Neutral Town Promotion

To promote a neutral town however requires both Security and Popularity of a certain level.

In terms of Security, it comes in two factors: Defensive Structures (such as Defense Turrets and Magic Towers) and NPC Soldiers. NPC Soliders can only be increased by either improving their combat standards or improving their equipment. There are no known methods to increase NPC's combat standards yet.

  • For example in Silverwing Town's case, in order to promote to an Advanced town, it required 600 of the town's soldiers to wear full sets of Fine-Gold Equipment.[2]

In terms of Popularity, besides a higher player count, the town should be able to attract NPCs as well. In order to do so, constructions such as Airports and Transportation Firms, will increase the rate of NPC merchants.

Another method was to use a Gold Town Promotion Order.
