As a different form of enjoying the game, players are able to pick from a list of professions available in the game, such players are generally referred to as Lifestyle Players.

Most of the known professions are production types, while others would be gathering types. Players are not restricted to only one profession, although most decide to specialize in one as it takes much effort and resources to reach Master and Grandmaster Rank.

Master-rank Lifestyle Players are renowned for getting the attention of Super Guilds and First-rate Guilds, offering them extremely high contracts in order to recruit or commission items from them.

Progression for most professions according to: (Profession) Apprentice >> (Profession) >> Master (Profession) >> Grandmaster (Profession) >> Great Grandmaster (Profession) >> Craftsman (Profession).

Known Lifestyle Professions[]

The Major Lifestyle Professions are divided in types, such as: Production types, Gathering types and Special types.

There are also the Minor Lifestyle Professions.

Major Subclasses[]

To level up the rank of a major subclass, a player needs accumulate a large number of Proficiency Points. In the case of the production types, also needs spend a large stock of materials due to trial and error.

Production Types[]

  • Forger (Produces metal equipment and weapons)
  • Leatherworker (Produces leather equipment) [4]
  • Tailors (Produces cloth equipment) [4]
  • Alchemist (Produces potions and other mixtures)
  • Enchanter (Produces enchantments for equipment)
  • Engineers (Produces tools applicable for both battle and transport)

Gathering Types[]

  • Miner (Gathers ores from mining ore veins)
  • Gatherer (Gathers Herbs and other materials for potions mostly)

Special Types[]

  • Machinist (Allows the player to operate an airship. Requires the player to have the engineer, forger and magician professions and be able to merge all three profession's techniques.)[5]

Minor Subclasses[]

In chapter 1130, more minor professions were mentioned due to a new system update that changed the focus of Guilds' development.

Minor subclasses were not as difficult to improve as major subclasses. One simply needed to achieve a certain technical standard to rise through the ranks.[4]

However, while there were no restrictions on learning minor subclasses, with players being allowed to learn over 10 minor subclasses, not everyone could level a subclass to Intermediate or Advanced rank, much less Master rank.[4]

The Talent Potion can help discover what subclasses are more suited for a player.[4]
