Triggered in chapter 1266. In order to gain more authority in Stormwind Town, Shi Feng goes to the Sea God's Temple where he speaks with Arnold, the Vice Temple Master and triggers the quest by asking if he can help heal Arnold's injuries.

Description[]

Name: Hero's Past

Type: Rare Hidden Quest

NPC: Lord Arnold, the Vice Temple Master (Level 160, Tier 3 Great Mage).

Location: Stormwind Town's Sea God's Temple

Objective: Cure Arnold of his wounds.

Time Limit: Unstated

Penalties: Unknown

Rewards: Stormwind Town Contribution Points.

History[]

In the past, the Sacred Temple had obtained Stormwind Town in part due to a rare quest. Players could accept this quest repeatedly as long as they could pay the price. Every time players completed it, it awarded more Contribution Points. [1]

However, one player from the Sacred Temple had persevered and stubbornly completed the quest, again and again. After his ninth completion, he had more Contribution Points than any other player in Stormwind Town. [1]

To become the manager of a town at Sea, one first needed to have the most Contribution Points of any player in that town. They would then have to take the managerā€™s test and pass it. Only then could they become the townā€™s manager for a single month. Once the month ended, if the player still had the highest Contribution Points, they could continue to serve as the townā€™s manager. If not, they would be replaced. It was a brutal competition. [1]

Accepting the Quest[]

Shi Feng receives the quest by asking about Lord Arnold's wounds and attempting to give him a potion. Arnold suffered from a curse's backlash while fighting an abyssal monster, and says that curing his wounds is too difficult.[2]

First Completion[]

The first item this chain quest required was the super-rare herb, Dragonā€™s Blood. When consumed, players would permanently gain anywhere from 10 to 20 Strength.[2]

Shi Feng obtains the herb during the second half of the first Candlelight Auction, when everyone can trade their items freely with the trading firm as an intermediary.[3]
